  1. blog recipe cbd smoothie

This recipe is from one of our Directors, Tina:

"I use a version of this almost daily, obviously play around with the fruit you use, I've used really ripe mango before and it's amazing. This recipe is a super simple way to add our CBD Hot Chocolate to your regular healthy smoothie, and if you are studying or taking exams, make sure to add blueberries as they can help with memory recall and concentration.

    • Your regular milk or milk substitute
    • 2 tablespoons of Organic Yoghurt or Kefir Yoghurt
    • A banana
    • 1 tablespoon Organic Oats (optional)
    • 2 portions of strawberries, raspberries or blueberries
    • 2 teaspoons of cannabeenz Hot Chocolate Dark

Throw everything into your blender, the amount of milk you use will be determined by how thick you like your smoothie, blitz well, pour into a glass and drink immediately

This is a fabulous weight loss shake too and a great way to get kids to consume fruit."

  2. blog alcohol and opioids

In the UK 5 people die everyday from Opioids, in the USA its more than 130 and there are 21 Alcohol related deaths per day in the UK with 240 in the USA.  Opioid and Alcohol are a serious issue.

A new study "(CBD) for the Reduction of Cue-induced Craving and Anxiety in Drug-Abstinent Individuals with Heroin Use Disorder" found high doses (between 400mg and 800mg per day) of CBD "significantly reduced both the craving and anxiety", for up to SEVEN days after the CBD was stopped.

Researchers found there were no significant or serious adverse effects" through the trial either and the CBD also reduced the stress hormone Cortisol in all the participants.

They concluded "CBD's potential to reduce cue-induced craving and anxiety provides a strong basis for further investigtion of (CBD) as a treatment for opiod use disorder."

And for those struggling with alcohol disorders, a paper that reviwed 26 studies between 1974 and 2018 concluded that CBD reduced relapses in mice, even when exposed to stress, once they had been weaned off Alcohol.  It also appears that CBD helped protect the brains and livers of the subjects from the negative results of alcohol too.  The liver saw a reduction in oxidative stress, inflammation and the death of certain cells.  In the brain, CBD served as a "neuroprotective antioxidant" which means there were fewer dead brain cells.

It certainly warrants further human studies and we look forward to the results of them.
