In case you missed it, The Daily Mail reported on 1st May 2019 that children with Dravet Syndrome (a rare type of Epilepsy) had their seizures reduced by 56% by taking CBD.
The scientists in the trial described it as a "major victory" in their quest to find a treatment. The study was led by Dr Ian Miller of Nicklaus Children's Hospital in Florida.
The study concluded that taking 10mg of CBD per kg of body weight a day was enough to gain the benefits that the study noted and that 20mg of CBD per kg of body weight a day effectively cut seizures by half.
The down side was that CBD in this dosage can cause diorrhea, sleepiness and loss of apetite.
Despite this, Dr Ian Miller was thrilled to be able to offer children who had often exhausted all other drug avenues, an additional form of treatment.
